Shri Parshwanath Jain Vidyalaya, Varkana located in GODWAD area of Pali District of Rajasthan.
The school was established on, February, 6th 1927 (Magh Shukla Pancham, Samvat 1983) by the inspiration of "Acharya Shri Vijay Vallabh Surishwarji Maharaj Saheb".
This was the period when the people of Godwad area in dist. Pali were illiterate and very backward. They faced a great difficulty whenever there was any telegram or letter in English. Since the people were uneducated there was no social awakening.
Acharya shri had seen the pitiable educational and social condition of the people, he felt a great need of education for them. So he wanted to start a school in the area. He awakened the Jain community of the area for this noble cause and with his constant efforts he succeeded in getting the school established at VARKANA.
In the beginning the people did not send their children to this school, with a great difficulty the school could have only Nine Jain students on the day the school started. Besides this no teacher agreed to come to this remote rural area. So Shri Surishwarji Maharaj Saheb, a devoted disciple of Acharyashri, took the responsibility of teaching and looking after the students.
Gradually the school developed and in 1930 it was promoted to Hindi middle school. It became English middle school in 1932. It was upgraded to high school in 1949.
The process of progress in the field of education continued and today Shri Parshwanath Jain Vidyalaya runs a number of institutions.
